Walk this way...

Putting their best foot forward NHS Sefton led the way in the latest Active Workforce challenge as they logo-active-workforcepounded the wards on their way to health.

Continuing to illustrate that leading a healthy lifestyle can be achieved while in the workplace, the latest stepometer challenge ran by Active Workforce challenged participants to increase and record their steps as teams each competed for top prizes. As the competition continues the race for the winning position grew fierce which was quickly evident as no clear winner was identifiable. As the leader board changed quicker than Usian Bolt getting his running shoes on, the competition was close as teams raced towards the finishing line.

Proving that three legs are better than two, the “Legs of Man” from Aintree NHS Wheelchair centre raced to third place in the competition as they collectively walked 2, 221 miles and just under six million steps as they left the snow behind to reach the sunny climes of Paphos, Greece.

Not far behind and certainly not ancient, the NHS Sefton team Jurassic Sports finished eighth overall in the competition as they collectively walked 1,733 miles (just under five million steps) travelling to Istanbul, Turkey.

Collecting their prizes, the winners won a range of surprises including passes to Splash World and Active Workforce goody bags.
