Winter Wickets
Despite the winter chill winter wickets continued as the Sefton physically disabled indoor cricket team ran home to score as triumphant defeat to become the Merseyside Champions following their tense win at Leasowe Recreational Centre.
As the competition date got closer additional training sessions were ran for participants before the all important final took place with Sefton batting against the Merseyside All Stars (Halton) to score the winning run. Into the second round and St Helens were next before being efficiently dispatches and the team went through to the all important final round.
Competing against Liverpool it was going to be tough as they had previously dispatched both Knowsley and Wirral teams scoring more than 200 in both games. After a tense start the Sefton team were at 155 but managed to keep the scoring down with some accurate bowling and excellent fielding before it came to the last bowl with Liverpool needing 7 to win. Running home to the finish Sefton took 4 wickets with the first 4 balls to finally finish as the victorious winners to hold up the shield and medals for the borough.
