Sefton Staff Step Up To The Challenge

The 3rd annual Active Workforce 5K challenge made a splash at the fantastic new Crosby Lakeside logo-active-workforceAdventure Centre recently with Active Workforce members setting the example as they lead the race.

Organised by the Active Workforce team in partnership with the Sefton Leisure Services’ Athletics development team, the event was a resounding success with compliments flying as participants recovered from their run/jog/walk about the picturesque route and how well organised the event was.

Keri Stanton, (Active Workforce) event organiser commented:

“I am absolutely delighted the event went so well and it is all down to all the help and support we have had from the athletics development team, building management, sport and recreation staff and partners such as the coast and countryside team.”

Striding ahead to achieve the winning title, Richard Shearer from Sefton NHS was the overall winner completing the race in a fantastic time of 15minutes and 55seconds. On completion Richard was presented with a shield and medal in front of fellow competitors (attached photo) in recognition of his achievements.
