Putting their best foot forward NHS Sefton led the way in the latest Active Workforce challenge as they logo-active-workforcepounded the wards on their way to health.

A local service for local people

Developing the range of services for the community and residents of Sefton, the Active Seflogo-active-seftonton team have partnered with NHS Sefton to create an online presence on the newly developed “Looking Local” website.

Winter Wickets

Despite the winter chill winter wickets continued as the Sefton physically disabled indoor cricket team ran home to score as triumphant defeat to become the Merseyside Champions following their tense win at Leasowe Recreational Centre.

Climbing High

Proving that there certainly isn’t a mountain high enough to stop them reaching theirlogo-positive-futures goals, year nine pupils in Maghull have been climbing high to achieve their goals this month.

CLSA Tutor Training

Coaching the next generation of sports leaders, Active Sefton held a community sports lealogo-active-seftonders tutor training day this month which saw more than twenty-five members of staff from various leisure services teams come along to Chesterfield High School to participate in a full day of practical and theory sessions.

It's a work in progress

Going out with friends and socialising is something a lot of people take for granted however for logo-positive-futuresyoung people with disabilities this can sometimes be a near impossible experience. Over recent months the Positive Futures team have been working with young people to provide positive activities to overcome traditional barriers to socialising with incredible results.

Totz get toddling

Sefton tots are toddling their way to health at the new Meadows leisure centre and  library in Maghull. Already achieving a record 1,200 new members signed up at the leisure and library facility, children in the area are also taking advantage of the new facility.

Kids get busy this half term

Despite turbulent weather conditions in Sefton the forecast for half term is for fulogo-active-seftonn for children and young people.

Throughout the school holidays Sefton Leisure Services are working in partnership with Sefton Youth Services to provide young people with a diverse range of free things to do at leisure centres and youth centres across the borough.

Active Workforce Member is in Training for the London Marathon!

One of the staff from the Sport and Recreation team, Carl Unsworth is completing the London Marathon logo-active-workforcein April 2010 for kidney research. His father has a very rare kidney disorder and has had a kidney transplant, so Carl would be very grateful for all donations, you can do this on line by visiting: http://www.kidneyresearchukevents.org/carl17

The target to reach is £1500 which will assist and support families who have loved one's suffering from kidney disorders/diseases.
