Walking in Sefton
Sefton Active Walks is a 'Walking for Health' programme, that provides a programme of walks across Sefton. The Walks are free to join and no booking is required, just turn up at the walk of your choice, meet our experienced walk leaders and enjoy the walk and the company. If you enjoy walking, but you don't want to walk alone, there are several walks available up and down the borough for you to come along to!

Swimfit
Swimfit, an exciting NEW programme designed to get fit, tone up
& have FUN!
After witnessing the world's greatest Olympic sporting event right here on our doorstep, swimmers in Sefton can now witness a world leading workout programme at Bootle Leisure Centre and Dunes Leisure Centre. Inspired by the structure of a gym programme, delivered by qualified instructors who will motivate and guide you, this is just the support you need at literally every stroke.
WHEN?
- Mondays at Bootle Leisure Centre from 6.45 to 7.45pm starting from 14th January 2013.
- Mondays at Dunes Leisure Centre from 6.00 to 7.00pm starting from 25th February 2013.
COST?
- £17.60 - £19.20 monthly direct debit payment. To register for a guaranteed place, please click here and a member of the Aquatics team will contact you to place you and to set up your Direct Debit.
- £6.00 casual pay as you go per session. There is no need to register, just turn up and pay*.

Disabled Children

The Aiming High team in Sefton provides a range of activities for disabled children and young people.
Within Sefton the project works to give children who might not usually have been included within activities the opportunity to get involved in sport and other leisure activities.

After school clubs are a great way to meet new friends and they stop you getting bored at home! So before you head home for you tea tonight why not try one of our clubs!
These clubs are taught by highly qualified CRB checked staff and are sure to improve the confidence of your child. Each class on average lasts for one hour and are a great way to introduce your child to a new sport.

Be Active

A sport and physical activity holiday programme, which offers children and young people aged 2-16 years, the opportunity to access a range of sport and physical activities including;
- Swimming
- Multi Sports Coaching
- Sports Camps
- Active Totz and Active Kidz Sessions
- Specialised Sports Sessions

Be Active runs during all major school holidays excluding Christmas.
The activities are designed to be inclusive to all children, however there are a range of disability friendly sessions offered separately, organised by our Aiming High Team. Please click here to be taken to the Aiming High website.
Buy your own Be Active Annual membership NOW, from one of our six local leisure centres for £20 (5-7 years) or £30 (8+ years), to access all time tabled sessions within all venues (excluding sports camps).
Alternatively, become a Be Active, Pay-As-You-Play Member and pay £2.50 per session (excluding sports camps).
There will be an additional charge for 'Be Active Sports Camps' for those children who wish to specialise and progress in particular sport.

Active Kidz
Each Active Kidz session lasts an hour and consists of a warm up, a main activity and a cool down. The aim of each session is to provide a fun safe environment to promote the active learning of FUNdamental Skills, (Agility, Balance & Co-ordination) which can be used in a variety of Sport and Physical Activity.
The Active Kidz community programme aims to bridge the gap between school PE/Sport and Physical Activity within the community, providing clear pathways to a wide range of activities.
Sefton Council operates six Leisure Centres; Bootle Leisure Centre, Netheron Activity Centre, Litherland Sports Park, Dunes Splash World, Meadows and Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre. All of these centres offer many different activities, for both boys and girls, on lots of days though the week and convenient times. To see our current centre list please click here
Fun Stuff
Active Totz

Active Totz is the fun way for all children aged 2-5 years, to discover a healthy and active lifestyle through play and interaction. Activity is natural, children love to crawl, walk, run and climb and it's just as important for adults and children to play together.
Come along and join the fun!
Points are awarded for participation, so everyone has the opportunity to collect a reward for increasing their physical activity.

Need a creche? Netherton Activity Centre has an onsite facility; with a range of activities available in this specially designed facility, we ensure that all children feel safe, relaxed and enjoy their time with us. Refreshments are available for children throughout their stay and private toilet, changing and feeding facilities are on hand to ensure children feel comfortable and at ease in this exclusive facility. Complete with private chill out areas and a soon to be arriving outdoor sensory garden facility, our creche is the ideal location for children to relax and play.
Attendance at the creche is free to all members of the Netherton Activity Centre, alternatively there are charges with discounts available for all other users. Prices are quoted per visit and can also be downloaded and kept from our creche flyer. The creche is open Monday - Friday, and is available in the mornings.
