The Homelessness Games 2010

The Homeless Games aims to build a better tomorrow for homeless people, we want to give homeless people the opportunity to engage in sport, in a safe and secure environment with arange of sports to suit all needs, with the support of professional coaches, training staffand health support workers.

Ready for Kick Off?

As the premier league season kicks off, another successful summer season of football came to a close this week with a rush for a top spot finish.

 

Celebrating a highly competitive season, Netherton Activity Centre hosted a finale football tournament for all teams from Litherland, Formby, Bootle and Netherton. With more than one hundred young people taking part in the football finale, competition was fierce as teams battled for the winning position.

Keep on Running…

While enjoying the lighter nights of summer, Sefton residents are being encouraged to keep on running and get fit.

Running in North Park, Bootle, the new running club has been set up by Sefton Leisure Services’ Active Sefton Team as part of the “Run in England” scheme which is aimed at newcomers and anyone who is new to the sport.

MOVE IT is a FREE, fun, 6-week healthy lifestyle course for children aged 7-16 and their families who would like to improve their health or need help with weight maintenance.

There are 4000 chemicals in a single cigarette, 60 of which are known to cause cancers. On average a 10-a-day smoker will spend £1066.52 year on smoking over 20 years that is £21,330.40.

Merseyside Fire Support Network with funding and support from Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service will be running a FREE multi-sports summer camp at Litherland Sports Park during the summer holiday.
