Club Development

Active Sefton work in partnership with Sefton Sports Council to offer sports clubs in Sefton the help and support they need to run efficiently and safely.

Sefton Sports Council is a voluntary organisation which acts as a governing body for the voluntary sector sports clubs in the borough.
 
Sefton Sports Council offers advice and information on all club related issues including funding, school club links, CRB clearance, child protection training and coach education / development.
 
Current initiatives available to member clubs include the following:
 
  • Club Development Guide
  • Club Directory
  • Coach Education workshops e.g. child protection
  • Sports Achievement Awards
  • Bursary Scheme
  • CRB Responsible persons courses and free CRB clearance
  • "Active Club Award" - Club Accreditation Scheme - Access to Discretionary Rate Relief

To enable Sefton Sports Council to fund such initiatives, members are asked to pay a small yearly affiliation fee as follows: £8.00 for single sports clubs and £16.00 for multi-sports clubs. Affiliation runs yearly from the 1st April to the end of March the following year.  Please ensure that fees are paid by the 1st April. Standing order facilities are available.
