Does Sefton boast one of the best parks in the country?
We are urging people to vote for their favourite Green Flag site in Sefton in the annual Green Flag Award scheme’s ‘Peoples Choice – Site of the Year Award’.
The Green Flag Award was first launched in 1996 to recognise and reward the best green spaces in the country. It is the national standard for parks in England and Wales, and recognises well managed, high quality areas. Leisure Services is proud to fly Green Flags in five sites: Botanics Gardens, Southport, Coronation Park, Crosby, Hesketh Park, Southport, Southport Crematorium, and Thornton Garden of Rest.
Competiton is fierce, but for a chance to see your local park receive the coveted title of ‘Peoples Choice – Site of the Year’ simply visit www.greenflagaward.org.uk and click on ‘Get Involved’. Under this section you’ll find the current top 10 sites as voted for by the public.
A winner from each region will be announced at a national event held in London on the 23rd September 2010.
