Positive Futures
Positive Futures is a national social inclusion programme for children and young people.
What does that mean?
In Sefton it means giving children and young people, who often miss out on opportunities, the chance to get involved in sport and other leisure pursuits like going to the youth centre, swimming or rock climbing.
Why?
The government asked loads of children and young people all over the country what they wanted and the answer was "more things to do and more places to go"
What are the benefits (what do young people get out of it)?
- Meet new people and build relationships and friendships
- Try new sports and activities
- Get healthy
- Become more confident
- Get skills that will help you go to college or get a job
What type of things do you do?
We aim to work with children and young people who are more likely to be excluded (left out) from these types of activities:
- Looked After Children
- Children with Disabilities
- Children and young people who, for different reasons, have poor attendance and behaviour in school
Where can I find out about what's happening near me?
All the latest activities, events and clubs are detailed on our website: www.moveitsefton.co.uk and are published on our Facebook each day.
