Coach Education

Sefton Council Leisure Services will launch their first ever coach education programme in 2009. The programme will see leisure services provide 15 national governing body awards to both current and aspiring new coaches within the borough and across the North West.

The comprehensive coach education programme will be part of the ongoing development of the new sport specific site at Litherland Sports Park, which, as a result will become the base for coach education within Sefton.

As a result of this exciting new programme the Coach Education programme offers community sports coaches, club coaches and volunteers an opportunity to improve their sporting and professional development whilst learning in quality facilities guided by high quality NGB trained instructors.

Overall upwards of 260 new and existing coaches will gain a qualification that will support the development of clubs and talented athletes within Sefton as well as leading to possible employment and continuous education.
